Police investigating stabbing in Vernon

The Vernon North Okanagan RCMP is investigating a stabbing that occurred in Vernon early Thursday morning.

At approximately 7 a.m., on Thursday, February 8th, 2024, frontline officers responded to a report that a man suffering from stab wounds entered a location in the 3400-block of 27th Ave. The victim was transported to hospital by BC Emergency Health Services personnel for treatment of non-life threatening injuries. Investigators were able to determine the incident occurred earlier at another location outside of a business in the 2400-block of 34th Street.  As a result of the initial investigation, two people have been arrested in connection with the incident and remain in police custody at this time.

 The parties involved are known to each other and we believe this to be a targeted incident with no known risk to the public, states Constable Chris Terleski, Media Relations Officer for the Vernon North Okanagan RCMP. There will be a continued police presence in the area as officers continue to collect physical evidence in support of the ongoing investigation.
