Intoxicated duo:

On November 16th, the Kitimat RCMP were dispatched to the 200 block of City Centre for two possibly intoxicated persons. The investigating officer located the suspects, one of which was arrested for causing a disturbance by being intoxicated in public. The arrested suspect was lodged into the Kitimat RCMP cells, being released without charge once sober. (2023-4385)

90-day IRP:

While on routine patrol during the early morning hours of November 18th, a Kitimat RCMP officer on routine patrol located a vehicle travelling at a high rate of speed along Haisla Blvd. A traffic stop was initiated, however an investigation into the impaired operation of a vehicle investigation was quickly started. The driver provided two samples of breath into an approved screening device confirming the driver had consumed alcohol before driving. The driver received a 90-day immediate roadside driving prohibition and their vehicle was impounded for 30 days. (2023-4407)

Pedestrian MVI:

During the evening hours of November 18th, a patrolling Kitimat RCMP officer witnessed a pedestrian being struck by a vehicle near an intersection on the 100 block of City Centre. It appeared the pedestrian had stepped out in front of traffic before being struck. The pedestrian was taken to a local hospital by emergency health services for treatment. (2023-4419)

Intoxicated in public:

The Kitimat RCMP was dispatched to a person down in a bathroom at a business located on the 200 block of City Centre on November 19th. Kitimat RCMP officers attended and located a male who had passed out after drinking an abundance of alcohol. As a result, the male was arrested for causing a disturbance by being drunk in public, and lodged in the Kitimat RCMP detachment cells. Once sober, the male was released without charge. (2023-4429)

Supplying liquor to a minor:

For a second week in a row, an investigation into supplying a minor with liquor resulted in another Kitimat resident receiving a $525 violation ticket under section 77(1)(a) of the Liquor Control and Licensing Act. The fine was issued November 20th. The investigator was able to identify who the 44-year-old the suspect was and once located, the suspect was issued the violation ticket. (2023-4445)

Single vehicle collision:

During the early morning hours of November 22nd, the Kitimat RCMP received a report of a single vehicle collision at the Cordella Creek Bridge, on the Kitamaat Village Rd. It was reported that the driver had swerved to miss wildlife on the roadway, lost control and hit the bridge. The vehicle was extensively damaged; however, the driver was luckily not injured.
