Woman pleads guilty to 2020 homicide

Lynda Saundry entered a guilty plea to the charge of manslaughter and was sentenced in relation to a 2020 homicide.

Background:

The BC RCMP Southeast District Major Crime Unit arrested a woman in conjunction with the homicide of an individual inside a home near Round Lake in the North Okanagan.

On August 4, 2020 at 9:30 a.m 59-year-old Lynda Saundry was formally charged with the first-degree murder of 55-year-old Barry Jones from the North Okanagan and was remanded at the appearance.
On March 5, 2024 in Kelowna Law Courts, Saundry entered a guilty plea to the charge of manslaughter. In a joint submission with the BC Prosecution Service and defence counsel Saundry was sentenced to 10 years.
